Your Mind Isn't Healing You. It's Rehearsing the Pain.
There's a difference, and it changes everything.
Picture this.
A woman hasn’t hugged her husband in two months.
Ever since she found out he’d lied, she’s been giving him the cold shoulder. They’ve barely spoken.
If she had to put a number on it, she’d say her anger is sitting at about a 74%.
Some days, when she looks at him, it spikes to 86%.
The Analysis
She could spend months talking about what happened.
Replaying the conversation.
Analyzing why he did it.
Trying to understand why it hurt so much.
The Shift
Now imagine something different.
Imagine she’s gently guided into her body instead.
She breathes.
She moves.
She stomps.
She lets the anger have somewhere to go instead of living inside her body.
Then later that day, she hugs her husband for the first time in months.
A few days later, she sits down and lets him explain.
You see, her mind had been trying to resolve the hurt.
Her body finally released enough of it to make room for something new.
I’ve seen these kind shifts over and over in my work helping women process and release emotional blocks.
Processing vs Replaying
I think about this a lot, how much of what we call “processing” is actually just replaying.
Going over the same conversation, the same hurt, the same version of events, again and again in our heads, mistaking the repetition for progress.
People can actually circle and recycle the same thoughts and inner conversations for months or years and still feel angry, and disconnected from themselves or their relationships.
And in one or a few somatic sessions focused on allowing the body to release have a massive shift.
We’re taught that understanding a feeling is the same thing as releasing it.
It isn’t.
You can understand exactly why you’re angry and still be completely stuck in it.
Because release doesn't happen in your mind. It happens in your body.
Reflection questions:
Where are you trying to think your way through something your body is actually ready to release?
What would happen if you moved it instead of replaying it?
Happy journaling!

P.S.
If your body is ready to release anger, sadness, heartbreak or the knot in your throat stopping you from speaking or sharing gifts, I’d like to invite to book a session with me.
The Sensual Self-Expression Awakening
This is a private one-on-one session where I’ll gently guide you through breathwork, sensual movement, energy clearing, and coaching so your body can release what it’s been carrying.
Sometimes the biggest shift isn’t learning something new.
It’s finally giving your body a chance to let go.
