The Smile That Started to Hurt
For the woman who has been saying she's fine for way too long.
For when you smile to seem okay but your heart feels heavy like a boulder.
Maybe you ran into an old acquaintance at the grocery store and when she asks how things have been going you put on a big smile and say
“Everything’s going great. The kids are good. How are you doing?”
But that’s not the truth.
You have a hard time sleeping through the night.
Sometimes you wake up anxious and you’re not even sure why.
And the kids are constantly asking if you’re okay, and once again you smile and say you’re fine.
And every time you say you’re fine when you’re not, the weight gets a little heavier. Because the truth never got a chance to move.
You’re not alone. Many women go through this.
I sometimes call this “the build-up”.
Where life and all its little and big disappointments, failures, heartaches, along with the childhood stuff we all carry energetically, builds up over time.
And now you’ve become the bag lady carrying a bag of bricks spanning all the way back to when you were six and all the kids laughed at you for stuttering.
That build-up weighs you down and feels like a boulder sitting in your chest where your heart should be.
And when you’re carrying all those bags around…
It’s hard to be happy and play tea party with the kids.
It’s hard to be intimate and frisky with your husband.
It feels like a chore to put yourself out there and share your work.
Nobody teaches you how to put the bags down.
How to feel through the failures and the heartache so it doesn’t just keep building up.
But it’s not too late.
You can still release the weight of the past today.
Start with these two things.
Stop saying you’re okay when you’re not. You need to acknowledge what’s going on. Every time you say you’re fine when you’re not, you add another brick to the bag.
Find at least one person you can talk to about what you’re experiencing.
Start moving your body intentionally. Not just to move, but to heal. Do yoga to heal. Dance to heal. Walk to heal. Shake, box, breathe with the intention of releasing what has been building up inside.
Yoga, breathwork, shaking, boxing, walking, dancing are all great ways to release built-up pain and hurt but the intention behind it is everything.
What you’re experiencing is 1000% reversible.
It is not permanent.
I know this because I thought I would have low grade depression and anxiety forever. And I don’t.
I have helped many clients get to the other side of the build-up and find their joy again.
If we can do it, so can you.
Your kids deserve to see you with a real, big, authentic smile on your face. And when you say I’m great, you actually mean it.
You don’t have to do this alone.
I would love to be your guide and help you release the weight of the past and present so that you sleep peacefully, your kids see the joyful you, and when someone asks how you’re doing you actually tell them.
I know it can feel like this is just how you are now.
Like the heaviness has been there so long it has become part of you.
But it hasn't.
It is just what you have been carrying.
And you can put it down.
I'll help you.
As part of my Sensual Girl Summer I’m running a special rate on
The Sensual Self Expression Awakening.
It is one private online session where we intentionally use yoga, breathwork, and softness to help your body feel safe enough to express the emotions and release them so you can get your happy back.
Much love,
Essence
P.S. If you know you’d like to explore working together beyond one session, click here to book a consult call.
I would love to talk.
