I HATE BRENE BROWN...HERE’S WHY
But when I looked into their eyes, I knew what was happening at that moment was perfect.
A few years ago my friend took me through Brene Brown’s Core Values exercise. (Brene Brown is a popular self-help author)
At first, I thought it was fun until we approached the last two.
Number 2 for me was “Making a difference”. I’m like “Yep, that fits me”.
And I couldn’t wait for my number 1 core value!!
You’ll never guess what it was… “Vulnerability” (insert emoji puke face)
I was like, “Shit, let’s start this exercise over.”
Although I was tempted to start the exercise again, we didn’t, and I decided to own it.
The very next day I was leading a morning ritual on Zoom with some ladies in my Facebook group at the time.
I started telling them a story about something I went through, they listened, held space, and out of nowhere, I started bawling my eyes out.
I was crying and thinking to myself, “I hate Brene Brown right now.”
To top that off, I had no tissue and had to blow my nose into a blanket. I was so embarrassed.
But when I looked into their eyes, I knew what was happening at that moment was perfect.
Those ladies needed to see that and know it’s ok to break down and feel your feelings.
It’s ok to be vulnerable.
Feeling your feelings is a part of being human.
Feelings and vulnerability are a part of your feminine flow.
When you disconnect from this and primarily live from your mind, you shut down your magic.
And your magic is beautiful!
Much love,
Essence
P.S.
I’m looking for 3 women to go through my Somatic Visibility Blueprint.
A private case study program for coaches, healers, and lightworkers who know they’re ready to share their work with the world but whose body keeps saying no every time they try.
This isn’t a course you take alone. It’s private one-on-one support where we work directly with your nervous system, so showing up online stops feeling like something you have to force.
Because you have medicine people need. And we’re going to get it out of you.
You get access at a reduced investment as we build and document the process together.
If you’re one of the 3, reply to this email or click the button to learn more about the program.
