I Didn't Expect This Message a Week Later.
What one client's message taught me about emotional release.
I remember working with this woman who was going through some really painful changes with the people closest to her.
Maybe you’ve had to navigate things changing like..
The co-parenting agreement changes and suddenly everything feels uncertain again.
You think your relationship is finally getting better, and then the other person says they’re done.
A friendship you’ve had for years fades away.
Her whole world felt like it was changing. The relationships around her just weren’t the same anymore, and she was trying so hard to hold it all together.
She was scared. Sad. Overwhelmed. And underneath all of that, she was carrying so much emotional weight.
Even though I’m a coach, I didn’t spend the session trying to help her think differently about what was happening.
I could have.
We could’ve talked about reframing it.
We could’ve looked for the lesson and found the silver lining.
But that’s not what she needed.
Because when your body is full of sadness, grief, fear, or anger, it doesn’t matter how many positive thoughts you try to think.
Your body is still carrying those feelings.
So instead, I guided her through breath and movement.
I gave her space to cry.
To shake.
To let her body express everything it had been holding onto.
I think this is where so many people get confused.
They’re afraid that if they really let themselves feel their sadness, anger, fear, or grief, they’ll get stuck there forever.
And honestly... sometimes they do.
But that’s because nobody ever taught us how to move through them.
We replay the conversation.
We think about why we’re angry and what we should’ve said.
But that’s not the same thing as letting your body move the emotion.
The body needs something different; that’s why we bring in movement, breath, sound, yelling, punching etc...
And sometimes your body also needs someone saying, “You’re safe. Keep going.”
When your body is safe, soft and open, the emotions release.
Once the body has a chance to move some of what it’s been carrying, the mindset shift usually happens on its own.
That’s exactly what happened with my client.
A few days later, she said...
“I was able to grow from everything that happened instead of letting it drag me down.”
I was happy to hear that and super excited that she got there so quickly.
Because nothing around her had changed.
The people and the circumstances were the same.
Yet, she wasn’t getting pulled back into those same heavy feelings every time she thought about what had happened.
She could think about it and make decisions without feeling consumed by it.
This is the power of releasing the emotions that are weighing you down.
If you’ve been trying to think your way into feeling better and it just isn’t working...
If you’re still waking up anxious.
Still replaying what happened.
Still carrying that heaviness around no matter how hard you try to let it go...
I’d love to work with you.
In the Sensual Self-Expression Awakening, we spend 75 minutes putting your body into a deep state of release so it can begin expressing what’s been hurting and letting go of some of the emotional weight it’s been carrying.
It’s a chance to step out of holding everything together for a little while.
To breathe.
To move.
To let your body do what it hasn’t felt safe enough to do on its own.
The release begins during our session, but it doesn’t end there.
I’ll also give you a few soul practices so that the lightness, emotional freedom, and clarity you’ll feel in the session continue to unfold.
Right now, I’m offering these sessions at half price, but only for three more days.
If your body has been quietly saying, “I can’t keep carrying this,” I’d love to hold that space for you.
Much love,
Essence
P.S.
You can go deeper.
