How to Know If You’re Called to Help Others
9 Signs You’re Called to Serve You Can’t Ignore
As we deepen into our calling to be of service and help others, many women wonder if the pull they feel in their heart is real.
If you’ve been feeling that inner tug and wondering what it means, these 9 signs will help you see what your soul has been trying to show you.
Sit with each one and notice what arises in your body.
Then explore the journal questions at the end and trust what reveals itself.
9 Signs You’re Called to Serve You Can’t Ignore
1. You feel like you’re living a double life: At work, you’re the reliable employee. But inside, you feel like you’re hiding the real you: the healer, the guide, the coach, the priestess.
2. You’re the one people come to for emotional or spiritual support… even at your day job: Coworkers tell you their life stories. People say, “I don’t know why I’m telling you this.”
4. You feel a deep ache when you see others doing the healing and coaching work you know you’re meant to do: You’re not jealous; it’s your soul recognizing its calling.
6. You can’t shake the feeling that you’re meant to help others, even if you don’t know how yet: It’s not a thought. It’s a knowing.
7. You’ve tried to ignore your calling to help others… but it keeps circling back: You’ve taken breaks. You’ve tried “normal life.” But the desire to serve always returns.
8. You daydream about helping others… but freeze when it comes to actually doing it: You imagine circles, sessions, writing, speaking, guiding but when it’s time to act, your body pulls the brake.
9. You’ve walked through fire and you know your story could help someone else: Your pain has shaped you into someone who can hold others with depth and compassion.
Just say yes…
There comes a time when you’re done looking for signs, done asking the universe to prove it to you, done needing your soul to whisper the same message over and over.
One day… you just say yes.
And the sooner you say yes, the sooner your soul can soften, relax, and be at peace because she knows you finally hear her.
Follow the signs:
When I looked back over my life, the signs were there long before I knew what they meant.
When I was little, I thought I would be a psychiatrist. In my mind, people would come to me, lie on a couch, and tell me about their lives.
Around 18 years old, I found myself working in a nursing home, and then in a home with women who had schizophrenia. This was long before coaching or mental health was on my radar.
Fast forward to 2012: as I healed, I began daydreaming about how I would take what was helping me and use it to guide others.
Then one day, I just said, “Yes, I’m ready.”
Now I’ve helped many women heal and grow, and so can you. See the testimonial below.

What happens in my body & mind when I think about helping others with my gifts?
What parts of me already know I’m meant to serve and what parts feel scared or unsure?
What would change in my life if I trusted that my calling is real?
Happy Journaling!
Much love,
Essence.
P.S.
When you say yes to your calling, someone else finally gets the support they’ve been praying for. Just like I helped this woman…someone is waiting for you.
